Hitting 10M views a month as a founder

How I turn my best tweets into videos in 30 minutes.

There is a huge opportunity for founders to get attention for their product, and almost nobody is taking advantage of it.

For the past four months, I’ve documented every step of my founder-led marketing journey.

I went from 0 to 3.6 million views a month and built this newsletter from 0 to 1K+ subscribers.

Almost all that growth came from text posts on X and Threads. Now I’m testing whether the same ideas can reach a new audience through video.

Most founders don’t do video because they don’t want to get on camera or it seems like too much work.

Until recently, I resisted recording videos too, for two reasons: I didn’t want to spend time coming up with topics, and I hate editing.

Then I realized my best text posts had already solved the first problem.

If a post does well on X or Threads, I know my audience is interested, so it is the perfect hook for my next video.

Now, X and Threads are my testing ground for video hooks. When a post does well, I read it verbatim as my video opening, then expand on the idea for another 10–20 seconds.

For example, in one of my recent YouTube Shorts, I started the video by reading one of my top tweets: “The AI job tsunami is coming.” Then I explained why I think becoming a founder is the safest way to prepare for it.

For editing, I found an awesome tool called Descript. You upload a video, it creates a transcript, and you edit the video by deleting words from the transcript. It also has an AI assistant, and I have a saved prompt that tells it how to edit my videos.

The whole process, from picking a post to uploading a finished Short, takes me around 30 minutes.

My first YouTube Short got 113 views. My second got 1.7K. My third got 1.4K.

To reach 10 million views a month, I plan to post 1-2 YouTube Shorts a day, then repost the top performers on Reels, TikTok, and Facebook.

It might seem like a huge jump to get millions of views when I’m only getting around 1.5K views per video right now.

But on social media, if you create content, measure the results, and improve, things compound fast. In June, I struggled to get more than 200 views on my X posts. Last month, one post got 600K views.

I’ll share my numbers here every month, so you can watch me either hit 10 million or fall short and try something else.
